The staff at the Hotel Luz were amazing. They were so kind and even let us store our luggage there after our stay. The location was primo...right around the corner from St. Marks Square and the Bridge of Sighs. Breakfast was a typical European breakfast, and was plenty of food for my family. We were very pleased with our stay.

This is a small fairly clean hotel providing outstanding and amazingly comfortable rooms. I must comment on its very central location - it was awesome.
Views are really bad.

Good location and quiet, a little challenging to find. Prompt service at reception, one of the nicer bathrooms we've come across in Europe.
Very cramped room, even more cramped breakfast area. Air conditioner controls were broken. Charging for internet access in this day and age is just silly. Complimentary breakfast was barely passable.

Location is perfect. Get off the valpretto at St Mark Square, into a side line and you are there. Hotel is slight small and cramped but room was adequate in size.
Furnishings are old. Shower head was broken. Water flow was poor.

We liked the atmosphere of the hotel and the Venetian style of the interior. It was a great location- handy for all the major sights.
We were disappointed with the breakfasts. We had to climb 70 stairs to our room and it was difficult lugging suitcases up there as there is no lift.

Very small room with extremely small bathroom, 5 flights of stairs with narrow stairways and no elevator or porter. No smoke detectors and bed cover and chair cover were filthy. TV was inoperative most of the time.

The location was easy to get to and extremely close to St.Mark's square.
Not very helpful or accommodating to tourist. I booked a double bed and they gave me a twin size (single) bed. You have to help yourself to everything from storing your own luggage while shopping after checkout. Asking for a city map. Asking for towels because room service forgot to put some in your room. You have to dig for information and ensure they follow through. Breakfast was very inadequate and skimpy. Literally,it was one croissant given to you and only a basket of mini dinner rolls that were hard. That's it. I had to make do on yoghurt and the croissant.

We read the reviews and were a bit worried prior to arriving. We asked to stay in the main hotel. The room was fine the beds weren't very comfortable but the bathroom etc was clean. The breakfast was fine and they kindly let us take up a breakfast for our daughters. The location was superb and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet.
The beds were not very comfortable.

The hotel offered easy access to water transport, perfect for my family, especially with little kids. We enjoyed being close to various restaurants and shops. Our Twin Room was clean and nicely decorated.
My kids wished there were more family-friendly dining options. The breakfast selection was limited, which could be improved for families traveling with children.

Efficient check-in and out. Spacious room. Good breakfast. Requested extra bed per e mail and received a positive prompt response.
Very small breakfast room and the one lady was rude and unhelpful- perhaps due to a language barrier?
